Description
In standard CISPR16-1-4, FAC is defined as “test site with no reflection plane”. Compared with SAC (semi anechoic chamber), the absorbers are installed not only on wall and ceiling, but also on floor. The main advantage of FAC is that there is no floor reflection, so a height scan is no longer necessary, which saved much testing time. However, the testing setup of chamber will be special and tedious because of the absorbers on floor, especially when a EUT has heavy weight and large size, it’s obvious that the test setup is difficult. In general, compared with SAC of the same type, establishing an FAC totally in compliance with requirement will be bigger in size and cost more. The biggest advantage is to save test time and meet the requirement of particular performance test of particular products (such as wireless stray tests).
